1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Redact PDF Online (accessible at redactpdfonline.com). By accessing, viewing, or using our website, web application, and associated tools (collectively referred to as the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Redact PDF Online provides a browser-based PDF inspection, text analysis, and permanent document redaction platform. The Service is provided free of charge and operates via client-side code executing locally in your web browser. We do not host, store, or transmit your document contents to our servers.

⚠️ 3. User Responsibility & Redaction Verification

While Redact PDF Online uses advanced algorithmic pattern detection (including regex and mathematical checksums) to identify sensitive personal data such as Social Security Numbers, emails, phone numbers, and bank account numbers:

  • Automated Detection is an Aid: Automated detection algorithms cannot guarantee the discovery of 100% of sensitive terms across all document formats, fonts, or handwriting.
  • Mandatory Verification: You are solely responsible for reviewing every page of your document and verifying that all confidential information has been accurately marked for blackout before applying redactions.
  • Final Inspection: Before transmitting, filing, or publicly publishing any redacted PDF, you agree to inspect the downloaded file to ensure all intended data has been permanently destroyed.

4. Document Ownership & Intellectual Property

Your Documents: You retain full and exclusive ownership, copyright, and all proprietary rights in and to any document, image, or text that you process using the Service. We assert zero ownership or intellectual property claims over your files.

Our Service: The design, user interface, brand assets, logos, software algorithms, and content of Redact PDF Online are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any local, national, or international laws or regulations.
  • Infringe upon the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or inject malicious code into the web application.
  • Impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our web hosting infrastructure.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties ("As Is")

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR ACCURATE IN ALL USE CASES.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL REDACT PDF ONLINE, ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, PROFITS, OR LEGAL SANCTIONS) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

8. Changes to These Terms
